Content published by DoctorNewsGlobal is provided for informational and educational purposes and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

We are a news publication covering medicine and the health industry. We report what researchers, regulators, clinicians and companies say and do. We do not practise medicine, we do not know your circumstances, and nothing here is written for or about any individual patient.

Reporting is not a recommendation

That we cover a drug, device, procedure or trial says it is newsworthy. It does not say it is safe, effective, appropriate or available for you. A result that holds for a study population may not hold for any particular person, and a treatment approved in one country may be unapproved, restricted or unavailable in another.

Research findings

Studies we report are the work of the researchers who conducted them, and we describe them as they stand at the time of writing. Findings are provisional by nature: early-stage results are frequently not replicated, preprints have not been peer reviewed, and conclusions change as evidence accumulates. An article reflects what was known on the day it was published and is not updated as the field moves unless the story itself is revisited.

Drug and treatment information

Where we mention doses, indications, contraindications or outcomes, we are reporting what a source document says — a label, a trial protocol, a regulatory decision. This is never a prescribing instruction. Prescribing information is jurisdiction-specific, changes over time, and belongs to the regulator and the manufacturer, not to us.

Expert comment

Clinicians and researchers quoted in our reporting are speaking to the story in front of them, in general terms. A quotation in an article is not a consultation and creates no clinician–patient relationship between that expert and any reader.

If you need medical advice

Speak to a qualified health professional who can assess your situation. Do not start, stop or change a treatment because of something you read here, and do not delay seeking care because of it.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

External sources

We link to studies, regulatory documents and other publications so that readers can check our reporting. We do not control that material and linking to it is not an endorsement of it. See our terms of use.

Corrections

If we have reported something inaccurately, tell us — how we handle it is set out in our editorial policy.
